Tune In, Drop Out.

Fresh Picks

It's all about that time and that place, in that moment.
Remember to treasure and embrace every bit.

Those conversations, I'll keep and hold.

" Wake up. Get out of bed and stop hiding under the duvet, no matter how warm it is. You will get nothing accomplished. Put some clothes on. Wear the red tights with the mustard yellow shoes. Arrange the 3 day old curls in your hair. Do something nice for yourself today. Get pretty for absolutely no reason other than to prove to yourself that you’re not worthless and sloven. Go to your favorite record store and listen to the old man’s playlist that usually consists of Howlin’ Wolf and strange 60s Middle Eastern music. Buy yourself your favorite garlic and tomato burrito, and make sure you get extra guacamole. Drive past Emily Dickinson’s house and imagine the lack of life she had. Spend the extra money on your favorite art magazine and plan a trip to Sweden in your head. Sing your favorite songs in your car. Make a pit stop to the reservoir. Collect the last leaves from autumn. Watch the sun sink into the horizon.

Don’t stare at your phone and wait for it to vibrate. Don’t mope. Don’t think about the only men in your life that have belittled you this week. Don’t sit. Don’t wait. Don’t look at the time that you’ve always set to three hours behind. Don’t delay your life even though someone has attempted to delay yours. "

I don't know who wrote this, but cheers to it.

I stumbled upon this and it could be good to escape from shoddy music these days.

Ape it out on your keyboard or mouse, works both ways.

Bed-Rest Time Was Ordered.

the fragile body of mine has broken down again.
i'm quite embarrassed and frustrated at the number of times i'm getting sick. i'm getting fidgety and i was tasked to hunt down some instant camera films.

speaking of those wonderful looking inventions, i would love to get one. but i think about how easy it is to replicate the effect on photoshop and how it is f-r-e-e, and i cannot. i simply cannot put myself to buy them and their insanely priced films. right now, a pack of 10 Polaroid 600 film goes for $31. oh, don't forget, that's if you are able to find them!

so, while oohing and ahhing on those damn lovely looking (aren't they?!) cameras, i randomly came upon this blog. ah, yes. may i add that my online searching skills can be quite hardcore. yes, back to the surprise blog. it is about a couple and their very cost efficient and still so touchingly beautiful wedding dinner party, held at their parent's backyard in California.

there are tips and diy bits that anyone can benefit from! not forgetting the photography, featuring very happy people! such joy! i can't wait to try out their guest photobooth idea, when polaroid films are (possibly) back in 2010.

go along now, >>>.

If you're party-less

..you can link roll your night away, starting from here.

1. No, seriously?! Who's ready for Gareth Pugh working on Dior Homme? I think Pugh's great, but Dior Homme should've just stopped after Hedi Slimane. Though that didn't happen, it looks as if it did (if you know what I'm getting at).

2. Just as we were talking about the legend - Hedi Slimane, here's his new photography work. His subject is another person on my list of favourites. It's Lindsay Lohan. Steam.

visit Hedi Slimane's site for more.

3. Lastly + Lustly, I've been wanting a pair of sneakers for a while too long. This is clearly off the budget, but looking is f-r-e-e! Available at Front Row, Ann Siang Hill (Singapore).

10 Design Commandments by Dieter Rams

Dieter Rams is a German Industrial Designer, born in the early '30s, who made Braun products come alive. He is known for implying this german phrase in his work - "Weniger, aber besser", which loosely translates to "Less, but better". According to wikipedia, it is speculated that Jonathan Ive (Designer of Apple Inc.) is influenced by Rams' work.

Good design is innovative
Good design makes a product useful
Good design is aesthetic
Good design helps a product to be understood
Good design is unobtrusive
Good design is honest
Good design is durable
Good design is thorough to the last detail
Good design is concerned with the environment
Good design is as little design as possible

Pink, for brighter days!

Stuart Semple calls it, 'Happy Cloud'.
He did it to cheer the Londoners up admist the doom + gloom. As he aptly says it, "..even for a fleeting moment."

I think its' quite guerrilla and well, it puts a smile on everyone's faces! It's made from helium, soap and vegetable dye. He surely looked into every aspect of this project!

Hopefully!

This blog I stumbled onto, is what I'm hoping to create here. Of course, my laziness is a distinctive obstacle.. that I'll hopefully overcome. (Yes! I will!)
